Oh boy... things are getting weird in politicsland. This 'thing' has just surfaced - called a 'Sock Obama' you can buy it over at The Sock Obama company. I'm so stunned, I can't make out whether this monkey caricature of Senator Barack Obama is for real or not. I'll leave it to you...

The domain name is hosted by BINKLEY-TOYS.COM, who deny owning the 'property' and are unwilling to comment on the creators of this obscenity.
Meanwhile, the THESOCKOBAMA CO., LLC is registered in Utah as a Limited Liability Company. The owners are DAVID J LAWSON and ELIZABETH A LAWSON, residents of West Jordan, UT. David J. Lawson contributed $2,300 to the Mitt Romney campaign.

The David Lawson you linked to is not the one behind the site; I emailed some local media, and the man in question, yesterday. Two reporters contacted me to say that he is not the same person, and lives 45 miles away. The real estate guy emailed me back, too; he was very confused and upset.
I emailed some SLC newspapers with the story; perhaps someone will dig up the real David and Elizabeth Lawson and find out what is going on.
That's not the same David Lawson; I emailed some area newspapers and two reporters wrote me back.
